Place // Krems an der Donau, Austria
Program // Urban planning competition
The Krems Railway District is designed as a mixed-use, car-free neighborhood combining housing, commercial spaces, education, and community facilities. Building heights are limited to seven storeys to respect the UNESCO World Heritage skyline. A central pedestrian promenade connects the district to the city, while green façades, a floodable park, roof gardens, and natural ventilation enhance noise protection, climate resilience, and overall quality of life.
